Paddy Chubb Wesselman

| September 20, 2017 1:00 AM

Paddy Chubb Wesselman passed away Aug. 10, 2017, with her family by her side.

Paddy was born Sept. 22, 1935, to Art and Vi Chubb. She attended local schools, graduating from Sandpoint High School with the class of 1953.

She married Ed Wesselman in 1954 and they had five children. Paddy was mostly a stay-at-home mom. After the kids started attending school, she worked at M and J’s as a meat wrapper.

Paddy and Ed’s greatest accomplishment was raising their “Down syndrome” son Dougie. They, and their other kids, gave Dougie a loving and happy 44 years of life.

Paddy had many lifelong friends. She always enjoyed a night on the town, a bingo game, a trip to a casino and a good old card game around the kitchen table with family and friends. Paddy and Ed would take yearly jaunts to Reno with dear friends Sonny and Virginia Oliver. She always had a memorable time on road trips with her lifetime friend, Shirley, and Paddy’s sister ,Becky, until her health started deteriorating, and she became homebound. The family would like to thank everyone who always asked how Paddy was doing through the years.

Paddy was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Vi Chubb; her husband, Ed; her son, Dougie; a sister, Becky Armour; and a brother, Smokey Chubb.

Paddy is survived by two sons, Ed Jr., and Jim, and two daughters, Tammy Kramer and Cyndi Sutliff; all of Sandpoint; her grandchildren, Toffer, Derek, Kayla, Mason, TJ (and Star), and Keila (and Rob); and great-grandchildren, Jagger, Emma, Titus, Tessa, Bailee, Avery, Skylar, Shaelynn, Ryiely, Peyton, Jordan, and Bentley; and a brother-in-law, Bill Wesselman. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paddy will be dearly missed by family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, 201, from 2-5 p.m., at the Eagles Lodge in Sandpoint.

Family and friends are invited to sign Paddy’s on line guestbook atcoffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are being handled by Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
