Melody Hunt

| January 10, 2018 12:00 AM

Melody was born Aug. 1, 1956, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Nancy and Jack Creeger. She passed away Jan. 2, 2018 surrounded by her family, after an extensive stay in ICU at Kootenai Medical in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wesley Ribeiro officiating.

Melody was born in Tiffin, where she lived near her grandparents, owners of a funeral home. Her mother and father divorced when she was 4. At age 5 she and her sister and mother moved to southern Idaho, where her mother was a teacher. There her mother married Richard Rohrbach and they all later moved to Colburn, Idaho.

Melody graduated from Sandpoint Senior High in 1974. In 1977, she married the love of her life, Ron Hunt (class of ’66). Together they formed a family of two children, Brooks (class of ’96) and Heather (class of ’99), they eventually settled in the present home on Highway 2 in Sandpoint.

Melody loved her God, her church family, her family, and especially her grandchildren, Shea, Brevin, Brianna, Kramer, and Nicole; and great-granddaughter, Harper. In her younger days she enjoyed swimming, fishing, especially crafting and being a “soccer” type mom taking her children to their varied activities.

One of her most cherished activities was cooking — cooking for church functions, her family and husband. When it became impossible for her to cook any more, she substituted by watching ALL of the cooking channels and shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Rohrbach; stepdad, Richard Rohrbach; biological dad, Jack Creeger; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Verland Hunt; her stepbrothers, Tommy Rohrbach, David Rohrbach; a niece, Molly Freund (child) and step-granddaughter, Becky Zwiers.

She is survived by her husband,Ron Hunt of Sandpoint; her children, Brooks Hunt, Spokane Valley, and Heather (Brian) Potack, Spokane Valley; and grandchildren, Shea, Brevin, Brianna, Kramer, and Nicole Potack, all in Spokane Valley; and great-granddaughter, Harper Zweirs, 11 months. She is also survived by her sister Alissa Eyre (Dave) of Chattaroy, Wash.; her sister, Pari (Trevor) Bailey of Belview, Minnesota; her half-sisters, Shawn Holtel and Tracey Streuwing of Batesville, Ind.; three step-brothers, Steve (Cynthia) Rohrbach of The Farm, TN, John (Holly) Rohrbach of Yuba City, California, and Matthew Rohrbach of Willard, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

“We all miss you, dear, but we will all meet again in Heaven, your loving husband, Ron”
