Boogie down as cool events heat up winter scene

| January 11, 2018 12:00 AM

SANDPOINT — We’re hitting our stride here in mid-January and concerts are the order of the day — or week, in this case.

David Raitt and the Baja Boogie Band have a show on Friday night at the Panida, featuring guest artist Peter Rivera. Rivera’s long string of hits with Motown band Rare Earth include “I Just Wanna Celebrate,” “Get Ready” and “I’m Losing You.” Told you you’d remember!

Also Friday is a contra dance with live music at Community Hall and on Saturday, Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness celebrate 13 years of working for wilderness and all of us who love it by bringing Spokesman-Review outdoor writer Rich Landers and his great stories to the Panida.

If you’ve an urge to wander, the Victor Wooten Trio is playing Sunday night at the Bing Theater in Spokane and, on Tuesday, Mattox Farms Productions brings the Nashville-based duo, Smooth Hound Smith to the Panida stage for what promises to be a great concert.

So, get out and have some fun, would ya?
