Jan. 11, 1968 — FIRST BABY OF 1968
The first baby to greet the new year at Bonner General Hospital was Eugene Webb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Webb. The VFW auxiliary and several Sandpoint merchants welcomed him with gifts and best wishes for a full and happy life.

FIREMEN ANSWER CALL
Firemen extinguished a blaze in a shed behind the N. Rosenberger home at 612 Lake St. Tuesday. Access to the blaze was through the alley off Euclid Ave. Chief Art Chubb lists the cause of the fire as children smoking cigarettes.

NEW LOOK FOR COURTHOUSE
If it seems that someone blocked off the windows of district court room on the second floor of the Bonner county courthouse, you are right. County employees blocked the windows and finished the interior with wood paneling. The treatment did wonders for road noises that frequently interrupted trials and meetings.

LACLEDE NEWS
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rembowski are the parents of a daughter, Kristen Clara, born Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. The two older daughters spent the weekend with their grandparents, the Lynn Hawkinses at Sagle, while their mother was in the hospital.

Jan. 11, 1918 — TROOPS ON FRENCH SOIL
Cablegrams were received Wednesday by parents of members of Company C, 146 F.A., 121 Division (old Company A), stating that the company had arrived safely at a French port. The cablegrams were sent “Sans Origine” (without origin), signifying that the port of entry was not divulged.

TOBACCO FUND GETS BIG LIFT
The Review’s tobacco fund for the soldiers had a big week with a check for $5.75 from Thomas Bentson of Careywood, representing a collection made there. Careywood has 11 boys in the ranks and it is evidently their intention to have their full quota in the United States armies smoking at their expense. Now that the Sandpoint boys are “over there” remember that what you do for some other boys, some other may do for yours. Keep the boys in tobacco and they will win the war.

NEWS FROM DORITE
Miss Blanche Senft returned Sunday after spending Christmas vacation at her home in Sandpoint.
Mrs. Charles Senft, accompanied by her little daughter Helen, visited here with her daughter, who is teaching the Dorite school.
Mrs. Thomas Shields, James, John and Irene Monroe and Blanche Senft took in the New Years eve dance at Clarksfork. All reported a fine time.
