Four years, 40 meetings and four public hearings.

Everyone agrees that coordination efforts between Bonner County and federal/state agencies needs to be protected. And most feel that we should do this as soon as possible. And the Natural Resource Plan, after being adopted, can always be amended as needed.

So, explain why the “drop dead” date of adoption last week was ignored and we still do not have the plan adopted?

The Volunteer Natural Resource Committee should be commended for their outstanding work. Sad to say, it does not seem to be appreciated and some citizens don’t seem to understand that it can always be amended.

Enough already. Let’s adopt the shield that this plan will be and give the county the voice it is supposed to have.
