Spartans' XC season starts Monday

| August 7, 2019 1:00 AM

Priest River Lamanna High School cross-country will kick off its season on Monday, and it is not too late to join the boys’ or girls’ teams that went seventh and fifth, respectively, at the IHSAA XC Championships.

“We are looking for all high school level home school, private school or PRLHS students who are up for personal challenges, having fun, making friends and want to get fit,” Priest River cross-country head coach Lance Clark wrote in an email. “Everyone can participate.”

Outside of regularly scheduled practices and races, the team has a myriad of activities planned this year, including a day at Silverwood Amusement Park, trial running at local trails, fun run-esque competitions against other schools and other group events still to be determined.

For athletes that are interested, or for those who want more information about the 2019 season, anyone can join the team Monday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Priest River Lamanna High School track.
