Grand Finale to start early Sunday

| August 10, 2019 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — In response to Sunday evening’s weather forecast for cooler temperatures, and out of concern for the Spokane Symphony’s musicians and instruments, The Festival at Sandpoint has moved up the start time of the Grand Finale concert.

The concert, which will be at Memorial Field, will now begin at 6 p.m. The gates will still open as planned at 4:30 p.m. for the Festival’s Taste of the Stars Wine Tasting and Quick Draw Finish Art Show.

The performance features the Spokane Symphony, with special guests Sybartie5, a dynamic classical ensemble, conducted by maestro Gary Sheldon.

“The symphony’s instruments are sensitive to extremes in hot and cool temperatures, and as such, this is part of our contract with the musicians. We are responding to this valid concern with a desire to still present the planned program,” said Wahl. “The musicians want to play and we are grateful for their flexibility. We believe this change will make the concert more enjoyable for our audience as well.”

Tickets to Sunday’s concert are $39.95 adults, $10.95 youth and available online at festivalatsandpoint.com, by calling 208-265-4554, or at the box office at Memorial Field at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
