At the Aug. 7 City Council meeting, several individuals attended complaining about the The Festival at Sandpoint’s policy of no weapons at the concerts. They felt this policy violated their second amendment rights.

First, this policy is in place for the safety and security of the performers and the audience. There have been over 250 mass shootings in the U.S. just in 2019, so The Festival’s policy is not unreasonable.

Secondly, if you are so offended or paranoid about not having your gun while you attend a concert, then I suggest you stay home and play with your guns at your leisure, without putting anyone else’s life in danger.
