SHS prepares for upcoming year

| August 17, 2019 1:00 AM

Sandpoint High School is busy preparing for the 2019-20 school year:

All students and their parents, are welcome to come into the school between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to pick up their parent verification forms beginning Wednesday, Aug. 21. To ensure students’ safety and security, it is important the forms are updated annually. Once these forms have been updated and signed by a parent, SHS will release student class schedules to 10th-12th graders. Incoming freshmen will pick up their schedules at orientation on Aug. 28.

Students will be able to purchase parking permits, yearbooks, and ASB stickers at this time. All students will be required to have their picture taken to receive their student IDs. All Star Photo will be coming later in September to take school photos. Sandpoint High School accepts credit/debit cards at the bookkeeper’s window.

Ninth-graders, new students and their families, are invited to attend SHS’s orientation/open house on Aug. 28. The evening will begin with a free barbecue at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by C.A.R.E., the parent support group at SHS. Beginning at 6 p.m. parents and students will meet in the gym for a brief overview of the upcoming year after which schedules will be distributed. Freshmen and new students will choose lockers, have their photo taken and receive an ID card. They may also purchase an ASB sticker along with yearbooks! The school will be open, and teachers will be here to answer any questions incoming students may have.

The SHS office at SHS is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for new student registration and school business. The school will close at noon Aug. 30. No schedules will be available prior to Wednesday, Aug. 21.

School begins Tuesday, Sept. 3.
