Daily Bee to form advisory committee

| August 18, 2019 1:00 AM

The Bonner County Daily Bee is seeking subscriber input to help shape its content and coverage, General Manager Terry Rollman announced today.

“We want to hear what our neighbors have to say about their local newspaper,” Rollman said. “The more ideas and opinions we can bring to the table, the better product we can deliver to the community it serves.”

Rollman will meet with a group of subscribers and community leaders on a regular basis. The committee will learn about the new ways the Daily Bee is connecting with the community and will have the opportunity to meet with editorial staff and advertising representatives.

No newspaper or writing experience is required.

“A good newspaper ought to share stories with its readers about what’s going on in town,” Managing Editor Caroline Lobsinger said. “Most days, we tell the public what that news is. The advisory committee will turn the tables and let our readers tell us what they would like to see. We’re interested in their critiques and suggestions.”

Community members interested in serving a one-year term on the Publishers Advisory Board, and who are willing to commit a couple hours a month, should send an email with their name, contact information and a brief statement of interest to trollman@bonnercountydailybee.com.

The deadline for applications is Sept. 15, 2019. The first meeting will be held in early October.
