HoneyBee presents intimate afternoon of Celtic fusion

Twins Deby Benton Grosjean and Pamela Benton return with HoneyBee, their dazzling quintet presenting an intimate and magical afternoon of music exploring the Celtic lore of the season. They will perform a variety of songs from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Galicia, Appalachia, and England, as well as Pamela’s originals and favorite seasonal covers.

In addition to a matinee at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint HoneyBee will also be performing at the Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center in Post Falls.

Deby Benton Grosjean, an internationally renowned Celtic fiddler has more than 40 recordings and is on faculty for Alasdair Fraser’s Scottish Fiddling School and his Sierra Fiddle Camp. Deby performs on the Ken Burns’ soundtrack of his documentary, “Not for Ourselves Alone”. She has formal training in Baroque and orchestration. She currently resides near Monterey Bay, in California and is a multi-instrumentalist recording artist and performs on electric violin and guitar throughout the Western United States. She has published two CDs of her original music and was the recording engineer, producer and performed on all the instruments. Pamela majored in music at San Jose State University and teaches violin, guitar and mandolin. In addition to HoneyBee, Pamela performs solo and with her five-piece jazz band, P.B. & Jam.

In addition to Deby and Pamela, the band features Taylor Belote on drums, Joel Wilson on bass, and Tyler Coulston on guitar.

Honeybee will perform Saturday, 3 p.m., at the Panida Theater. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door.
