KRFY Community Radio announces IPA fundraiser

| December 13, 2019 12:00 AM

Come on down to the Idaho Pour Authority, Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5-8 p.m. and join the 88.5 KRFY crew to celebrate community radio in North Idaho.

There will be Payette Brewing Company out of Boise, music by Marty Perron and Doug Bond, snacks, raffles, silent auction and good old-fashioned fun.

Everyone is invited to have a brew and meet the crew and as the station completes their ninth year.

From a simple dream of a few individuals to have a community radio station, to going live for the first time in January 2010, to the current organization of over 30 trained broadcasters, 19 locally produced programs, an active volunteer team, and a base of listener supporters, 88.5 KRFY continues to expand its reach.

The community radio station is reaching out to the community with local content from local programmers, encouraging new program hosts through training and support, giving air time to the Sandpoint High School Cedar Post, giving support by co-sponsoring events (Bay Trail Family Fun Run, Chafe 150, Pend Oreille Pedalers 3/4 Minus Cykeltur), offering voter informational content through Local Decision and candidates forums, providing air space for community podcasts, hosting community events such as the movies “Woodstock” and “RBG”.

That’s Wednesday, December 18, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Idaho Pour Authority located at 203 Cedar St., in downtown Sandpoint. See you there.
