Sandpoint sets weekly surveys

| December 13, 2019 12:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Beginning Sunday, city officials will be releasing a series of seven weekly surveys using its Open Town Hall platform.

The surveys will be topic specific and are designed to inform master planning efforts currently underway, including the Comprehensive Plan Update and the Multimodal Transportation Plan. The surveys will be available on the city’s website at sandpointidaho.gov/engage, its Facebook Page and in the Engage Sandpoint mobile app.

The mobile app can be downloaded to any mobile device through Google Play or Apple’s app store. App users will receive a notification when the survey is available.

“Each Sunday, a survey will be launched and it will be open through the following Saturday at midnight,” Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad said. “Results from each of the prior surveys will also be available publicly on a weekly basis. We intend to make this a quick and easy way for our residents and business owners to share their thoughts with us and make a difference in our policies and projects into the future.”

The survey schedule will be:

- Dec. 15 — Multimodal transportation (streets, sidewalks, paths and accessibility)

- Dec. 22 — no survey due to the holidays.

- Dec. 29 — Jobs and economic development.

- Jan. 5 — Public facilities, services & utilities.

- Jan. 12 — Housing and Neighborhoods

- Jan. 19 — Community Character & Design

- Jan. 2 — Natural Resources

“Community members can take one or all of the surveys, added City Administrator Jennifer Stapleton, although we certainly hope they will choose to give us their input on all of the topics.”
