Donations help Y help community

SANDPOINT — As Litehouse YMCA celebrates its first year in Sandpoint, it has quickly become a leader in helping those in need and impacting the lives of thousands in the community every day.

As the needs continue to grow, the YMCA counts on the generosity of the community to help them help others, Mary Berry, communications and marketing director for YMCA of the Inland Northwest

“Whether it’s the 1,000 children who received free Safety Around Water training in the last year or the 350-plus senior citizens who now have free membership thanks to the Y’s subsidized partnerships with their insurance companies, our community is becoming safer and healthier every day,” she said.

However, these opportunities wouldn’t exist without the help of the Y’s generous donors.

“With your support, we give everyone — regardless of income, age, race, religion, or background — a place to connect and a place to thrive,” she said.
