For many years, the Community Assistance League has adopted the Sandpoint Area Seniors’ homebound seniors for the holidays.

There are about 70 individuals who are receiving home delivered meals because they are unable to get out and shop and/or cook for themselves. Some are distant from family members and it makes this time of year particularly challenging. Some may have been injured and are temporarily unable to walk or drive.

CAL members help bust the HDM recipients’ “isolation blues” with kindness and gifts paid for out of their own pockets! This is just one of the many ways CAL helps our community.

If you would like more information or want to be a volunteer driver with SASi’s meal program, call SASi at 208-263-6860 and ask for Mary McGinnis, food program coordinator.
