Alarmists hoodwinking the people with contrived crisis

| December 31, 2019 12:00 AM

Most folks do not enjoy being hoodwinked, yet that is exactly what climate alarmists are doing.

There is no real scientific consensus that human-caused climate change is a crisis which demands that we make major changes in the way we use fossil fuels. The 97 percent lie had its origins with leftist students, professors, and politicians. It was designed as a scare tactic to frighten people into submitting to a strict socialist/communist form of government. In fact, communists blame global warming on capitalism and claim that communism is the only reasonable answer to the (contrived) climate crisis.

Left-leaning letter writers are actively spreading the “consensus” lie in order to trick folks into submitting to a new political order in this country. For those writers, it is more reasonable to let others do their thinking for them than to think for themselves. After all, it takes considerable effort to think for oneself.

In his letter of November 24, Jack DeBaun returns to his ad hominem fallacies. He calls the truthfulness of Roy Spencer as a person into question because of Spencer’s religious beliefs and fails completely to deal with the truthfulness of any of Spencer’s statements. DeBaun is always quick to attack the person instead of the argument. But like I have said before, either a statement is true or it is not, regardless of religious beliefs.

Logic and sound reason are the enemies of the leftist climate crisis fanatics. We should use them often, and use them well.
