Alan Dale Mahler, 60

Alan Dale Mahler, 60, passed away on May 29, 2019 in Lockeford, Calif., where he lived for nearly two years; relocating from North Idaho to be near family and in a warmer climate.

Alan was born on June 27, 1958, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He served in the United States Army and later worked in sales.

After graduating from Gonzaga University, Alan discovered his true passion working as a special education teacher. After retiring from teaching in Spokane, he moved to his family’s homestead in Naples, Idaho, to manage the family tree farm. It is here where Alan enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, huckleberry picking and being in the great outdoors.

Alan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Melissa Mahler, and granddaughters Paxton and Emerson of Lodi, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law Blake and Hailey Mahler, and granddaughter Aspen of Newport, Ore.; and his sister, Diana Sauer of Cheyenne, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Peggy Mahler, and sister, Carol Mahler.

At Alan’s request, no service service will be held.
