Area RAC meeting is set for Friday

The Idaho Panhandle Resource Advisory Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Friday is to review and recommend projects for funding.

The meeting, which will be held at the Idaho Panhandle National Forests Supervisor’s Office, 3815 Schreiber Way, Coeur d’Alene, is open to the public.

The RAC works closely with the Forest Service to recommend projects that will benefit forest health, fish, wildlife, soils, watersheds and other resources; maintains roads, trails and other infrastructure; or control noxious weeds. The Idaho Panhandle RAC covers the Idaho Panhandle National Forests within the state of Idaho and includes Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, Shoshone, Benewah and Latah counties.

The purpose of the committee is to improve collaborative relationships and to provide advice and recommendations to the Forest Service concerning projects and funding.
