Did You Know? June 14, 2019
The Western U S has had little change overall in the severity of fires since the 1600s and the
annual rate of % burn was much higher before 1900 than it is now? Did you know it was warmer
2,000 and 1,000 years ago than it is now and that after the Little Ice Age ended in the 1600s,
temperatures have steadily risen? And did you know that carbon dating of tree stumps in
Alaska reveals that 2,000 and 1,000 years ago glaciers melted naturally as it was warmer then?
Most of us have heard the adage that “There is nothing new under the sun”. Studies of the
geological history of the earth reveal that the frequent screams of doom by the climate alarmists
are not based on the recorded and recurring history of the natural world. For instance, during the
Obama administration it was broadcast that the glaciers in Glacier Natural Park would disappear
by 2020, but recent snowfall has actually increased the size of the glaciers. Nature happens.
As for the fears about increasing CO2, a 6-5-2019 article in CFACT sites an article published
In the “Nature Climate Change” journal by a team of respected scientists that states “From
one-fourth to one-half of Earth’s vegetated lands has shown significant greening over the last
35 years largely due to rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide.”
All of the facts provided above can be found on CFACT or in “Global Warming Skepticism
for Busy People”.
