Beer Fest to honor area veterans

| June 29, 2019 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The community’s veterans will be celebrated at the second VFW Beer Fest, being held today at the 219 Lounge.

Not only is it a chance for local veterans to get together with their comrades, it also a chance to learn more about the Veterans of Foreign Wars and have a good time.

The VFW Beer Fest will take place today, June 29, from 5-8 p.m. The 219 Lounge is located at 219 N. First Ave., Sandpoint.

All are welcome to participate.

Those who attend can enter to win an Attleboro knife (must be present to win).

The first beer if free for all veterans, courtesy of the 219 Lounge, and the Sandpoint VFW will pay first year’s membership for any eligible veteran. Mad Bomber Brewing Company — a veteran-owned business — will be the event’s highlighted beer.

Today’s beer fest is the second of a series of events sponsored by the Sandpoint VFW Post and local business, with the first beer fest held this spring at Matchwood Brewing and a fall event planned at MickDuff’s Brewing Co.
