(Photo courtesy of KRIS KNOWLES) A group of Sandpoint boosters, alumni, school officials and small business owners pose together in Sandpoint High School’s renovated weight room. The school is not only very appreciative of local support, but would also like to thank the Lake Pend Oreille Poker Run, Bulldog Bench, Yoke’s, LPOSD Maintenance Department, Mia Kohal-Painting, Litehouse, Greg and Laurel Taylor and Family and the SHS Athletic Department for making the new weight room equipment possible. The bulk of the weight room renovation project — a byproduct of several years’ worth of fundraising, Bulldog Bench golf scrambles and donations from over 100 local businesses — included $25,000 worth of Rogers Pendulum Line weight racks and glute-ham machines, which will not only benefit students on Sandpoint’s athletic teams, but also non-varsity sport athletes whom participate in the high school’s wide variety of weightlifting classes.
