Is the investment on an education worth the money? This question is often debated. As an educator, I can understand both sides.

Going to a university isn’t for everyone. I know that, and I accept that. I want my students to do what’s best for them. Going to a trade school or using an already learned skill might be the best option for students right out of high school.

Regardless of the path they decide to take, no student would have the skill set necessary to attend a university or enter the trades without the knowledge they have gained in public school. Public school not only provides a rigorous academic skill set, but it also provides students with the necessary soft skills to make it in the real world.

Public school is a place of learning and growth in many different areas of life. The Lakeland School District is a wonderful place to work, and I can assure you it’s a wonderful place to be a student.

Our children are the future. We should invest in them and their education to ensure that we are creating well-rounded, productive members of society. Our students need the latest technology and resources to ensure that they’re on a path to success when entering the real world, regardless of the path they decide to take. We work hard to see that our students leave our schools with an education that prepares them for success outside our buildings.

Please do the research, ask questions and vote for our levy! We are striving to be great, so please join us in helping our students reach their full potential.
