Sandpoint Legacy Wrestling Club places 13 in pair of tournaments

Thirteen has been the lucky number for Sandpoint Legacy Wrestling Club lately, as the team has placed 13 kids on the podium at each of its last two tournaments.

On March 9 at the West Valley Tournament held in Spokane, 13 of the 18 wrestlers who participated placed in the top three of their respective weight classes. Not only that, four Sandpoint Legacy wrestlers placed first.

Joel Holub, Tyler Wood, Zak Wood and Miro Parr-Coffin placed first; Logan Wood, Maxx Watson, Ketsia Holub and Axel Jones placed second; and Beau Cates, Conner Brown, Carter Yetter, Colter Cates and Grace Balch all placed third.

The club followed up its performance with 13 more medalists at the Jared Skiles Memorial Tournament, held in Newport on March 16.

This time, however, five of wrestlers placed first.

Beau Cates, Logan Wood, Zak Wood, Miro Parr-Coffin and Carter Happell took first; Kaleb Bogadi, Tyler Wood, Colter Cates and Lincoln Balch placed second; and Breckham Noble, Maxx Watson, Axel Jones and Gage Martin placed third.

Sandpoint Legacy continues its spring Folkstyle wrestling season in Chewelah this Saturday, March 23.
