DYW Sandpoint program is today

SANDPOINT — Seven outstanding high school juniors will be participating in the 2019 Distinguished Young Women of Sandpoint program today at Sandpoint Middle School.

The program is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.; the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $15.

Distinguished Young Women of Sandpoint welcomes the following participants: Kayana Carey, Mikayla Schoening, April Radford, Shelby Mohler, Emily Rainey, Taylor Riley and Sloan Strock.

The state program this year will be held on Oct. 4-5, in Idaho Falls where the high school junior selected as Sandpoint Distinguished Young Woman for 2019 will join other representatives from across the state competing for cash scholarships and the opportunity to represent Idaho at the 62nd National Finals in Mobile, Ala., on June 27-29, 2020.

Local winners will advance to the state program in Pocatello, where more than $20,000 in cash tuition scholarships are awarded.
