A solid majority of Idahoans voted to support the Initiative favoring Medicaid epansion. The Initiative process is a constitutional right, providing citizens with a means for “checking and balancing” actions of our legislators. They must honor this. Why would elected officials in our state Legislature disrespect the voice and will of Idaho citizens??A democracy provides for citizen involvement and a bill has been introduced that will gravely impact this citizen right.

The passage of HB1159 will

1. Lock ordinary citizens out of the legislative process

2. This bill is not legally sound

3. Our legislative process is being unduly influenced by outside sources — predatory lenders and out of state money.

4. Our representative is sponsoring this legislation against our constitutional rights.

Exercise your constitutional right as an Idaho citizen. Contact Rep. Sage Dixon, R-Ponderay, and implore him to vote no. At the same time, copy your message to Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard.
