“Annie”, produced by Growing Dreams Productions, Inc., is shaping up to be every bit as good as “Shrek the Musical” was last year! Starring over 60 local actors, singers and dancers from ages 8 to 18, Annie features some of the classic songs of American musical theater such as “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow”, “It’s A Hard Knock Life”, and “NYC”.

Being on stage is only part of the picture. More of our area youth are helping to create and build the set, props, costumes, make-up and more backstage for this show, under the wings of director Jeannie Hunter, musical director Jon Brownell, choreographer Becky Lucas, and costumer Angie Aller.

Annie opens Friday, April 12, and runs for six shows, including two matinees. Evening shows on April 12, 13, 18 and 20, begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Matinees on April 13 and 20 begin at 2 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. Popcorn and other snacks will be available at the performances, along with flowers for purchase for your favorite actor/actress.

Tickets can be purchased online at ticketor/growingdremasproductions.com or locally at Eve’s Leaves. General admission tickets for all evening shows are $12 each. For both matinees only, children 12 and under are $10 each, 13 and older are $12 each. Ticket sales are brisk, so get yours early. All shows will be performed at the SHS auditorium, come early for the best seats. For more information email us at growingdreamsproductions@gmail.com.

The cast and crew are excited to see you in the audience for “Annie”. They would like to thank all this year’s sponsors — PAFE, Idaho Forest Group, Mountain West Bank (Sandpoint branch), Arby’s, Winter Ridge Natural Foods, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, The Pottery Bug, and Pierce Auto Center. We also want to send a big “Thank You” to Caroline Lobsinger and The Daily Bee for helping us spread the word about our fabulous kids.
