PacWest cancels Lakes presentation

PRIEST RIVER — PacWest Silicon is canceling its presentation on Thursday to the Idaho Lakes Commission.
The company, which is proposing a silicon smelter south of Newport, canceled its presentation due to an inability to pass a comprehensive land use plan amendment in Pend Oreille County.
The commission is still slated to meet at 9 a.m. at the Priest River Event Center.
