Donald Heller

Don Heller passed away peacefully and comfortably as he prayed for on March 2, 2019, at the Schneidmiller House in Hayden, Idaho.

Don was born in Carlisle, Pa., on August 24, 1932, to to Don Sr. and Catherine Alberta Heller.

He served in the Marines for nearly four years and fought in the Korean War.

When he honorably discharged from the Marines he moved to Grass Valley, Calif., in 1955. He worked for Chevrolet, Standard Oil, Yuba River Lumber and also co-owned a Union gas station with his father.

Don and his late wife Jane moved the family to Clark Fork, Idaho, in 1976 where he worked as a self employed logger and then was the Director of Maintenance and Transportation for Bonner County School District. He retired from this position in 1984.

His wife of nearly 40 years passed away from cancer in 2001 and Don is survived by three sons, Don III, Ron and Randy. Don II is married to Wendy and they have three children, Cody, Holly and Tyson who all live in Nampa, Idaho. Ron splits time between Clark Fork and Santa Barbara, Calif., and has four kids ,Ali and Morgan who live in Denver, Colo., and Brooke and Mitch, who both reside in Santa Barbara.

There will be a celebration of Don’s life this summer in Clark Fork when the family gathers together.
