Soul of Panida found in its patrons, volunteers

| April 13, 2021 1:00 AM

I read with interest Patricia Walker’s guest editorial about her tenure at the Panida Theater. As with any relationship, no one truly knows what occurred except the two parties involved. I personally know many of the current board members and am familiar with their knowledge, experience, and backgrounds regarding the most appropriate way to manage a non-profit theater. I have 100% confidence they will be stalwart in their vision “to preserve, protect and provide a venue to enrich the community culturally and economically”. The Panida has survived for almost 100 years through a world war, a pandemic, a depression, and many recessions. Mayor Gray would be proud! The soul of the Panida is not embodied in one person, but the hundreds of benefactors, volunteers and patrons who have supported the Panida through the years. With the appropriate management, she will continue in perpetuity.
