HAYDEN LAKE — CeCe Deprez grabbed medalist honors to lead Sandpoint girls golf to the team title at the Susan Mitchell Memorial Invitational on Friday at Hayden Lake Country Club.

The Bulldogs bested host Coeur d'Alene by 15 strokes and CeCe carded an 82. Head coach Mike Deprez said his daughter is starting to hit her stride.

"As I look at the girls it's what are the trends and are they getting close to moving in a direction that their scores are close to where I think they're going to need to be when we play state," he said, "and the answer is yes for [CeCe]."

Camille Neuder was right behind CeCe, shooting an 89 to tie for second as an individual. The performance by Neuder came just days after she shot an 87 at the Lake City Invitational to earn medalist honors.

Hattie Larson and Annaby Kanning each recorded a 94 to tie for seventh. Audrey Sheffler tallied a 107.

"That's the big step that we wanted to see from Annaby," Deprez said.

The Sandpoint boys placed fifth out of nine teams in the Jim Kraus Memorial Invitational at Avondale Golf Club.

The Bulldogs finished one stroke ahead of Lakeland in sixth and seven behind Moscow in third.

"The team is looking really good," Deprez said about the boys.

Harley Wilks and Dawson Owens each carded an 85.

"Harley had a horrible start and then he took a deep breath and turned it around," Deprez said. "I think he was two-over for the last 13 holes on a golf course that they only play once a year, so I'm happy with Harley and I'm happy with Dawson."

Connor Bird posted a 90, Jake Samuels shot a 93 and Jacob Gove had a 103.

"Connor's swing is extremely good right now," Deprez said.

The Bulldogs will compete in the Post Falls Invitational on Wednesday at The Highlands Golf Course.
