It's time to support WBCSD with yes vote on levy

| April 25, 2021 1:00 AM

My name is Carissa Black. I am a year-round resident at Priest Lake, a full-time Ranger at Priest Lake State Park, a property owner, and a full-time mom of two children who attend Priest Lake Elementary. Our family was drawn to this area for our love of the outdoors, career opportunities and the excellent education Priest Lake Elementary provides. Without the school, our family, like many others, will be forced to make some very tough decisions concerning our livelihood. It is imperative our neighbors, as well as summer residents, patrons of our parks and lakes, and property owners understand why we need this levy to pass.  We understand many of the residents who will vote on this levy may not have school age children. However, day-to-day services these residents depend on are done by those of us with children, and all will be impacted. We are the gas station workers, the grocery store clerks, the electricians, plumbers, librarians, house cleaners, resort staff, and rangers; we are a community who have children, grandchildren, neighbors and loved ones who are part of the West Bonner County School District. I specifically appeal to all residents to vote YES on the levy to keep our schools funded and open so those of us with children in our lives can continue to work, live, provided needed services and enjoy this beautiful area of Northern Idaho.
