Rotary Club, Pend Oreille Pedalers to work on trail restoration

The Sandpoint Rotary Club and Pend Oreille Pedalers will have a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. work party on Saturday on a 100-acre property adjacent to Pine Street Woods known as VTT to develop a new trail sponsored by the Sandpoint Rotary Club.

The trail, which is sponsored by the Rotary Club and aptly named “The Rotarian,” is part of a project meant to develop a new trail system for walkers, bikers and more, and eventually connect to the Pine Street Woods trail system.

POP members plan to continue hosting trail work parties throughout the season said Executive Director Jason Welker.

“This one’s going to be probably 30 or so rotary volunteers, along with some Pend Oreille Pedalers,” he said. “[We]re doing] about six Saturday and 30 Thursdays through October.”
