COEUR d'ALENE — The Sandpoint Sharks club swim team opened the short course season with a strong showing at the Adam England Memorial Fall Splash on Nov. 19-21 at the Kroc Center.

The Sharks posted plenty of PRs and showed tremendous growth and determination throughout the event, head coach Sara Zwink said.

"I'm very happy with how this meet turned out," she said. "We look very strong compared to last year and I'm very pleased to say that we had 18 swimmers attend this meet, which is the most swimmers we've had since I started coaching. We are getting a lot more interest in the swim team and we had a couple new swimmers participate in this meet. I'm looking forward to short course season; I have a feeling that this is going to be an awesome season for the Sharks."

McCoy Jensen was named teammate of the meet for his performance and sportsmanship.

"He cheered on every single one of his teammates the entire meet," Zwink said.
