Please use electric shopping carts responsibly

| December 14, 2021 1:00 AM

Kudos to all the stores in the area that provide the electric shopping carts. I greatly appreciate them as they make shopping much easier. I’m sure that all the other handicapped, and disabled folks appreciate them as well.

So it mystifies me how so many of you can be so rude and inconsiderate. You ride them into the parking lot, (never mind they have a sign that says in store use only), you leave them in the parking lot in the rain, snow, hot summer days, without any consideration for the other folks who would appreciate the use of them as you did. Some stores will follow you out and bring back the cart if you ask.

It is so nice to come into the store and find them plugged in, charged  up and dry, ready for use … because the person who used it before you was considerate and transferred their groceries to a shopping cart, then parked the cart, and plugged it in.

The inconsiderate ones say, “I can’t walk,” but they are not using a walker, crutches, or a wheelchair, and they obviously walked into the store to get in the cart, that was ready to go. Why can't these same folks cannot extend the same courtesy? But then I guess it goes with being rude, selfish, and inconsiderate.

But for all the handicapped, disabled folks who use them responsibly, thank you, and keep up the good work.
