| December 18, 2021 12:03 AM

PRIEST RIVER — Clark Fork boys basketball struggled in its opening game at the Spartan Christmas Tournament on Friday.

The Wampus Cats fell to Priest River 59-20.

Clark Fork (3-5) will face North Idaho Christian in a consolation game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The Spartans (3-2) will battle Genesis Prep in the tournament championship at 7:30 p.m.

"No excuses, but we are physically and mentally drained from this long week," head coach Heath Beason said. "We need some rest and relaxation, we are on empty. We tried to keep legs fresh but it wasn't enough. The week is not over and we're going to have to dig deep for Saturday's game."

Clark Fork trailed 30-10 at the half.

Sam Barnett and Cole Reuter led the team with 4 points each.
