Lois Irene Davis

Lois Irene Davis passed away on Dec. 21, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Lois was born in Pierre, South Dakota, on August 4, 1934, to Herman and Mabel Eich. She was the fourth of six children. Her family moved to Cocolalla, Idaho, when she was 4 years old. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1952.

Lois married Clarence Davis on November 7, 1952; they had three children, James E. Davis, Larry C. Davis and Melissa Davis. Lois and Clarence started the Corner Café and Trailer Park in the early 1960s and kept running it until the 1980s Shortly after that, the pair bought Sayers’ Jewelers. Lois also opened Friends of the Shelter Thrift Store, with her friend Eva Ownby.

Lois is survived by her children, Jim E. Davis, Larry C. Davis and Melissa M. Tucker; her sister, Gayle Wemhoff; her grandchildren, Adrienne (Vern) Nelson, Justin (Kathryn) Davis, Shanna (Brandon) Crump, Christopher Davis, Savannah LaFountain, Jeremy Davis, Tania (Brian) Riley, Mark “Bob” (Crystal) Tucker, Clarence Tucker; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, Herman and Mabel Eich; and her four brothers, Don Eich, Glen Eich, Dean Eich and Gary Eich.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, in Coffelt’s Moon Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy will be officiating.
