SPOKANE VALLEY — Jacob Eldridge scored 15 points for Sandpoint, but a 31-point night by Medical Lake’s Oren Rhimer was the difference in a 66-63 loss late Wednesday in the Eagle Holiday Classic at West Valley High.
“It felt like we got outworked a little bit in the second half,” said Sandpoint coach Brian Childs, whose team led 31-22 at half, but was outscored 44-32 in the second half. “It seemed like they were getting every 50/50 ball and they just made some plays down the stretch. Credit to them, we kind of had that lead and they’d chip away and we couldn’t finish it off tonight.”
Randy Lane and Ethan Butler scored 13 points each for Sandpoint (3-5), which hosts Lake City on Tuesday.
Medical Lake is 4-5.
