Defense, strong attack leads Bulldogs to win
BOISE — Daylee Driggs scored 10 points for Sandpoint, which held the Caldwell Cougars to five field goals in a 38-16 win on the second day of the Timber-Lion Tournament at Borah High on Wednesday.
“Our defense was great throughout the game,” Sandpoint coach Will Love said. “It took us a while to figure out Caldwell’s zone, but once we focused on attacking the basket, the girls found a lot of success.”
Sandpoint (5-5) concludes the tournament today against Columbia High of Nampa at 9:15 a.m. PST.
“The girls keep improving,” Love said. “It was great to get a team win on the second day of the tournament.”
Kelsey Cessna scored eight points for Sandpoint.
Caldwell is 0-10.
