Farewell event planned for Martin

PRIEST RIVER — A farewell gathering for Mayor James Martin will take place at the Priest River Event Center on Monday, Jan. 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
There is a potential for a quorum of the City Council to be present, said City Clerk Laurel Thomas. No council business is scheduled or will be occurring and so no minutes will be taken.
At 6 p.m. a city council meeting will follow with the swearing in of the new mayor, Kevin Wylie. Also on the agenda is the decision for the creation of a citizen advisory committee of the newly acquired Joslyn property.
