Area students earn honors and degrees

Alsager earns degree at George Fox University

Andrea Alsager of Sagle was among the undergraduate, adult degree and graduate-level students who received diplomas from George Fox University in the fall of 2020.

Alsager earned a bachelor of arts in management.

More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university's campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore. George Fox offers bachelor's degrees in more than 35 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, seven seminary degrees, and 13 master's and doctoral degrees.

FHU announces academic honors

Sarah Johnson of Sandpoint is among students honored by Freed-Hardeman University, which recently released its president's and dean's lists for the fall semester.

To be on the president's list, a student must be full-time and have a 4.0 grade point average. Students on the dean's list have earned a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the semester.

Johnson, who is a freshman interactive digitial design designer and undeclared and missions major, was named to the president's list.

The university has locations in Henderson, Memphis and Dickson, Tenn.

Miller earns dean's list honors

Kendall Miller of Sandpoint was named to the dean's list at Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2020 Fall Semester.

Miller is in the ASL-English interpretation program.

Undergraduate students are eligible for dean's list if their GPA is greater than or equal to 3.40 for nine credits of traditionally graded coursework; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete," NE, D, or F; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Founded in 1829, RIT enrolls about 18,600 students in more than 200 career-oriented and professional programs, making it among the largest private universities in the U.S.

EOU announces winter term dean's list

A Bonner County student is among the 629 students named by Eastern Oregon University to its dean's list for the 2021 winter term.

Qualifying students achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded EOU coursework.

Earning honors was Justin Jeske of Priest Lake.

SFCC releases honor roll for winter quarter 2021

Several Bonner County students are among the 1,082 students on Spokane Falls Community College's honor roll for winter quarter 2021, which ended in March. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above to be listed on the honor roll.

SFCC is one of two community colleges within the Community Colleges of Spokane district and serves about 7,600 students. SFCC has campuses in west Spokane, Fairchild Air Force Base and Pullman.

Those earning a spot on the dean's list are Jaimie Irons of Cocolalla and Alyssa Lish of Ponderay.

Community Colleges of Spokane is a 12,300-square-mile state community college district that includes Spokane Community College, Spokane Falls Community College and six rural education sites, serving residents in Pend Oreille, Stevens, Whitman, Ferry and parts of Lincoln counties.

About 34,000 students are enrolled at CCS each year.

EWU announces winter quarter honors

More than 3,300 students – including students Bonner County — are among those earned dean's list honors at Eastern Washington University.

The EWU dean's list is released after every fall, winter and spring quarter. An undergraduate student who earns 12 quality hours and receives a GPA of 3.5 or better is placed on the dean's list.

Among those earning the academic honor are:

Graci Allen of Spirit Lake, Louis Balcaen of Bonners Ferry, Katherine Hartwig of Oldtown, Grace Kirscher of Sandpoint, Holly Lodoen of Spirit Lake, Jodie Mactagone of Spirit Lake, Roxann Maier of Sandpoint,

Lillian Nolan of Priest River, Elizabeth Parsley of Sandpoint, Joshua Spurgeon of Spirit Lake, Alina Terry of Sandpoint, Riley Walkington of Sandpoint, and Alex Weaver of Spirit Lake.

Utah announces spring dean's list

University of Utah officials have announced that more than 8,700 students were named to the spring 2021 dean's list. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

Local students named to the spring 2021 dean's list include:

Alden Bansemer of Sandpoint, a computer science major; Garrett Connolly of Sandpoint, a pre-material science & engineering and entrepreneurship major; Teigen Edmundson of Sandpoint, an engineering major; Tina Greimes of Sandpoint, an applied mathematics major; and April Radford of Sandpoint, an environmental and sustainability studies major.

McPherson College announces spring 2021 academic honors

McPherson College, a four-year private college located in central Kansas, recognizes its highest academic achievers in its spring 2021 honor roll and honorable mention.

Among those honored is Theodore Flint of Sagle, who was named to the honor roll.

To qualify for the honor roll, students must be a full-time student and earn a grade point average of 3.55 or higher during the previous term. Students earning a grade point average of 3.25 to 3.54 are named to the honorable mention.

SNHU announces winter 2021 president's list

Several area residents have earned a spot on Southern New Hampshire University's winter 2021 president's list. The winter term runs from January to May.

Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits.

Those honored by the university include Moriah Canida of Bonners Ferry and Daniel Triebwasser of Sagle.
