Don't gamble our welfare for political points

| March 9, 2021 1:00 AM

As I read the letters in this paper screaming at me to wear a mask and practice social distancing and the exhortation to beware of Walmart and Safeway as they do not police this requirement, I also read in this paper that high schools don't have to practice either social distancing or the wearing of masks. I know this because in almost every issue there is a story with an included picture of a sports team violating the very mandate that this newspaper is constantly telling us we must follow.

This is the problem that has been created by our media in that we are told that we must wear gloves, no we must wear masks, no, masks don't work etc. When the media tells intelligent people conflicting "facts" and a week after we get a new president, a government doctor tell us that the epidemic is abating, the public tends to get numb. We know that this epidemic has become politicized but please don't gamble your readers' welfare for a few political points.
