David McCoy, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his Cocolalla, Idaho, home on February 27, 2021. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on March 16, 1961.

He was married to the love of his life, Debbie Lee (Phinney) McCoy. They were married September 18, 1982, and were married for 39 years. Debbie was his partner in all their adventures together. Whether it was snowmobiling, camping, ATV riding, Jet skis, cutting wood or just watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies together — they were never far from each other’s side.

David was a hardworking man who you could count on to help if you needed it!

David was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Mance and Pauline McCoy; and oldest brother, George “Bud” Decker.

David is survived by his wife, Debbie; his brother, Jim Decker of Santa Rosa, California; and his sisters, Patricia May of Lewiston, Idaho, and Linda Sheridan and husband Charles of Lewiston. David is also survived by his nieces, Dyana May Carney, Denise May Musick and Lisa May; and nephews, John May and Duane May Jr.

David lived with his oldest sister Patricia and husband Duane May from the age of 8 years old. They finished raising him, taught him how to be a man, and introduced him to the trade of Iron Working. David continued this profession until his retirement from Ironworkers Local #14 in August 2019.

A celebration of David’s life will be on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at the Cocolalla Cowboy Church at 4281 Cocolalla Loop Road, Cocolalla Idaho at 11:00 am.
