Most county roads have weight limits

| March 12, 2021 1:00 AM

Almost all county roads have weight restrictions, according to Bonner County Road & Bridge officials.

In District 1 — south of the Long Bridge — all roads, with the exception of Old House Road, are posted with weight limits. In addition, no-hauling restrictions were added to Birch Banks, Hanford Drive, E. Comeback Bay and Comeback Bay lanes, Martin Bay, Otts Basin and Gypsy Bay roads.

In District 2 — Priest River and Priest Lake areas — all roads are posted with weight limits.

Eastriver Road is closed from the 5700 block through the slide area due to lengthy road repairs. Please detour through Eastriver Loop. The Eastriver Loop bridge has weight restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height limit of 12 feet, 1 inch.

In District 3 — Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — all roads will be posted with weight limits by 8 a.m. today, March 12. No-hauling restrictions are in effect on Shadow Mountain, Park Lane, and Milk Creek and Grouse Meadows roads.

Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
