Idaho Master Naturalists accepting registrations

| March 24, 2021 1:00 AM

The local chapter of Idaho Master Naturalists are now accepting registration for the 2021 new member classes.

The Pend Oreille Chapter will begin classes on March 26 via Zoom.

Anyone with a love of the outdoors and an interest in volunteering to actively work toward stewardship of Idaho’s natural environment is invited to join. All physical abilities and interests are encouraged. The first year consists of 40 hours of interesting classes plus 20 hours of volunteering to certify.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the volunteer hours have been reduced from 40 to 20. Both the classes and volunteering are very easy to fit into schedules. Many other groups' educational opportunities also count for the Master Naturalist hours. The group is sponsored by Idaho Fish & Game and are based out of the WaterLife Discovery Center in Sagle.

Socially distanced field trips are also interspersed in the classes.
