Sandpoint JV baseball grabs 3 road wins

The Sandpoint JV baseball team had quite the weekend.

The Bulldogs (3-2) picked up a road win over Coeur d'Alene on Friday and a pair of victories at Bonners Ferry on Saturday.

Against the Vikings, SHS scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and earn a dramatic 5-4 win.

Junior Jack Ringer started on the mound and allowed four hits and two runs across 3 2/3 innings of work while striking out three.

Ichiro Matsutaro recorded two hits in the game, and Lucas Hansen, Finn Mellander, Chase Sanroman and Ringer each drove in a run.

In the first game of the doubleheader against Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint cruised to a 10-2 win by scoring six runs in fifth inning.

Paden Lish came in and relieved Kody Bocksch on the mound in the second inning. He had six strikeouts and allowed no hits in three innings on the bump.

Manny Colon tallied three RBIs and Zach Leverich had two. Jacob Hansen went 2 for 4.

The Bulldogs 10-run ruled the Badgers in the series finale, capturing a 12-0 victory.

Matsutaro drove in three runs and Carter Sanroman tallied three hits.

On the mound, Cole Sanroman and Greyson Johnson combined to throw nine strikeouts.
