Artist choice is theme for upcoming POAC exhibit

| May 13, 2021 1:00 AM

Pend Oreille Arts Council’s artist members were requested to submit a piece of art for the exhibit that’s opening on Friday, May 14 with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at the POAC Gallery, 110 Main St.

The piece could display a new technique and style that the artist is cultivating, or in the medium the artist typically works. Either way, the criteria is that only one piece per artist can be included.

“We have about thirty participants and there is a lot of variety in the show,” POAC arts coordinator, Claire Christy, said. “Some people brought in brand new work, others brought in pieces that they have had for a while, but never showed with POAC before. We’re calling the show ‘Artists’ Choice.’”

The public is invited to join POAC board members for a glass of wine and close look at some of the most amazing pieces of art created by local artists. This exhibit will only be on display for one week, so make a note to visit the gallery during regular business hours if you’re unable to attend Friday’s reception.
