Don't cut off your nose to spite your face

I don’t often find myself in agreement with Bonner County Commissioner Dan McDonald. However, I share his perplexity over how the Bonner County Republican Central Committee could so inexplicably misinterpret the solid waste bond question on our primary ballot.

As Commissioner McDonald stated in the Bee’s story on May 12, opposing this bond is a vote for dramatically higher fees. If you don’t understand the logic, please call Commissioner McDonald and have a conversation with him.

This ill-advised decision to oppose this bond reminds me of the old saying, “Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.” Loosely interpreted that means, don’t over-react and needlessly self-destruct in your pursuit of revenge. You will only be damaging yourself .
