Lawrence, Parsons value patient care over politics

| May 13, 2021 1:00 AM

There are two big questions people usually have when determining where to live: How are their schools? How is their healthcare? I found myself asking these questions 23 years ago when searching for a quaint mountain town to live in.

One of these questions is on the ballot this month. On May 18, Bonner County residents will elect members to the Pend Oreille Hospital District Board of Trustees.

This board supports three of the thirteen Bonner General Health outpatient clinics: Behavioral Health, Ear, Nose, & Throat, and Sandpoint Women’s Health.

The Pend Oreille Hospital District Board is responsible for investing our tax dollars back into these clinics to enable them to keep providing exceptional health care. It is essential that those elected to this board prioritize patient care over political agendas.

Dr. Thomas Lawrence and Helen Parsons make patient care a top priority. Dr. Lawrence has worked as a local family health physician for 40 years. Helen Parsons was an employee of Sandpoint Women’s Health for 28 years. After retirement, they continue to dedicate their time and knowledge to serve on this board.

Please vote for candidates who are devoted to the health of our community. It is more important than ever to re-elect Lawrence and Parsons.

Their campaign slogan says it all, “patient care over politics.”
