NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE USDA RD FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATION Bonner County intends to submit to USDA Rural Development a request for financial assistance to upgrade the County's Solid Waste System. The project includes constructing a new waste transfer building at Colburn, constructing a household hazardous waste (HHW) building at Colburn, and the renovation of the existing Colburn transfer station to provide more space for waste processing and to give the public a second location to unload waste. The project also includes improvements to the rural collection sites at Dickensheet, Dufort, and Idaho Hill. The County held a public hearing on September 4, 2019, to obtain public comment regarding a 10-year Solid Waste Capital Improvements Plan (CIP), proposed increases to solid waste fees. Bonner County also held public hearings on April 20, 2021, April 27, 2021, and May 11, 2021, to discuss and answer questions from the public regarding the revenue bond election to be held on May 18, 2021. Bonner County Solid Waste seeks the public's approval to obtain a USDA Rural Development loan to fund projects identified in the 2019 CIP.
