Simko, Williams advance to district final in doubles

COEUR d'ALENE — Clark Fork's Wesley Simko and Blaine Williams took down the No. 1 boys doubles team from Orofino on Friday to advance to the 3A District 1-2 championship match.
Simko and Williams won 6-2, 6-2 and will now face Jackson Emery and Oscar Hepworth from Coeur d'Alene Charter in the district title match on Saturday.
The seniors took down the Panthers' No. 1 doubles team 8-3 on May 6 to earn the top seed to districts.
Simko and Williams have already locked up a berth to the 3A state championships on May 21-22 in Nampa by finishing in the top five in boys doubles.
Eli Engelhart saw his season come to an end on Friday when he lost both of his singles matches.
